You want me to "supervise" the mortars HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Me + Pyro = Holes in the ground. I have a bit of previous form when it comes to overdoing it on that front. Namely the holes *through* the bridge at one of the old FireFight sites. Not to mention the craters around it.

LOL, perhaps that training is needed then!

Steve, I had assumed that we would be capable of laying and firing ourselves using Guy's det box - although options are, as you say, get over to TLFX or ask TLFX to do it for us (which would blow a collosal amount for just a cool add-on).

I'm sure none of us have contacted Tony yet, perhaps now is the time to do it?

You think i didnt *mean* to do it?

25g primary, 3 kilo black powder main charge (god bless a colleague of mine who now works down at the Fort in what we euphemistically call "energetic materials" - and the VWR catalogue @ work)

Thats my problem. When someone says "blow the bridge" i tend to take it a bit too literally.

Regarding chatting to Tony, a bit of cross-fertilisation with Guy's A2C project might be a good idea?

Yes, you are right, more reason to go for it Guy?

Heh, when I was a kid it was easy to get hold of explosives - I bought a lb of saltpetre from Boots (meh, they were 'proper' chemists then) - the boss ask me what I wanted it for, I told him exothermic experiments, he said OK! (It was used domestically, a hangover from olden days of curing meat I suppose). Charcoal was easy as was sulphur (also had many home uses). Formulae were in every boys book and encyclopedia. We blew anything and everything up - airfix tanks and planes, action men, old sheds. Happy days!

Then I discovered the formula for nitroglycerin which was ridiculously easy to make - so I cooked some up in the kitchen. I discovered it doesn't blow up if you hit it with a hammer    bleedin hell, I know now how it works - good job I didn't then!

Um ...no for home cooked pyro for me :D

Been there seen that , nearly burnt the house down and removed a lot of flesh from my hands...nearly ended in divorce....concerned about neighbours calling police...post 9/11 lack of any sense of humour or proportion...especially given the level of chappatti bombs they found in Leeds /Bradford.

I liked the fireballs from HFM , £10 for a big bang (as at CR) and a large amount of smoke, more impressive than 25gms IMHO . Need carefull deployement and use .

Use Tony for TEHL? , nah , we got a det box and we're not afraid to use it . :ghey:

Contact tony for training , yep ! Let me get A2C going and then I'll contact him to take up his training offer for all of us , unless someone else wants ot sort it out first. As he lives in Barnsley which is just down the road from me....

Let Kermit near the Pryro .....
Suggest he lobs TBs down the mortars whilst i set of the e- dets :ghey:

Heh, don't think anyone was being serious about home pyro (and I seriously doubt our mental competenace for handling the stuff!).

Aaargh, always waiting for something - not after A2C gets going, before Eagle game. If we are (or some of us, or even one of us) are 'trained' by Tony then at least we will have some competency as well as a source of material from the manufacturer rather than a distributor.

I'll sort it if you want...

Yes, probably not a good idea to let me near it. Mind you, i did build a wonderful field expedient FAE once...

Take one small HDPE bottle (200 ml is ideal) Drill hole through cap. fill bottle half full of dry sand. Place maroon in bottle, thread wire through hole in cap. Seal this with Araldite and let dry. Cut top off of 2 Litre pop botttle. Fit the pyro bottle in the bottom of pyro bottle. Tape top of pop bottle back on. Pour in 1 Litre of petrol. Take 2 flash puffs, cover in gaffa tape to seal them. Gaffa tape pop bottle to middle of plank, with smoke puff gaffa'd either side (but 1 foot away). Rig to det box and stand WELL back.

Set off first charge (one in the HDPE bottle), this will obvious spread fuel and fuel vapour over a wide area. Blow both the flash puffs less than 1/2 second after the bottle goes off. BOOM! huge rolling fireball.

*Caution* make fucking sure you're upwind of it.....

Next week, Jay introduces you to the art of backyard blast furnaces and building your own flares - plus, for the truly dedicated, Thermite for beginners.

Arse, Guy tells me that Josh won't be playing Liam. (I have the horrible feeling we won't be getting vehicles either)

Stephen, is there any possibility Kerstin would be up for playing a spy? Fluent German would be a hoot!

Why the fuck won't he be playing Liam!? I'm getting more fucked off with this joker by the day.

Right. K says that she's sort of happy to come along and do that but isn't really sure what else there will be to do once she's made contact with the Germans.

Oh, and what facilities are at the site? Can't remember if there's a toilet.

Not sure about a toilet - perhaps Guy could ask when he next speaks to Josh.

The spy is able to move freely between both sides to extract information and pass it on - the Germans can send her into the US base for example and find out that Churchill is having a cup of tea in the NAAFI (what is the US equiv?) or pass on location of hidden m/g nests - as examples.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, Josh did apologise and say he's got more events thatn he can handle...although not sure what he can do whilst we'll be playing there ?

Hopefully we could arrange something as a thank you present for K if she's game enough to go for it :D

She's really up for it, but is a little worried she won't know what to do so we'd need to script it for her.

She wants to know if there's a toilet because things could be a little awkward for her if there isn't for reasons I don't need to go in to.
